Last updated: July 5, 2026

1. The free app

EchoQuill (free version) is open-source software licensed under the MIT License. It is provided "as is", without warranty of any kind. You use it at your own risk, and the authors are not liable for any damages arising from its use, as stated in the license.

2. EchoQuill Pro

3. Acceptable use

You're responsible for how you use the software — including complying with laws on recording other people, and the terms of any website whose content you transcribe. Voice Command mode executes actions on your own computer at your instruction; review what you say before you say it.

4. Third-party services

Optional features connect to services you choose (OpenAI, Anthropic, Groq, Ollama, or others) using your own accounts. Those services have their own terms, and their costs are yours.

5. No warranty / limitation of liability

The software and site are provided "as is" and "as available." To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties and are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages. Our total liability for any claim related to Pro will not exceed the amount you paid in the twelve months before the claim.

6. Changes

We may update these terms; the date above reflects the current version. Continued use after changes means acceptance.

7. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Kentucky, USA, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.
